Our Purpose

To research and document the unique history of the area, which includes the ancestral Indigenous presence, the geographic features, and the effects that early settlement has had on the development of the area.<br />

We are currently finalizing the set up of our Society which includes the development of our operational procedures as well as arranging for project leaders, developing project details and working on acquiring funding for upcoming projects.

  • Collation of information on monuments, buildings, and other manmade historical

  • Enumeration and biography of people who have been part of the development of
    Coldstream
  • The collation of the origin of place names, streets, roads, etc.
  • Geography of the Coldstream area with details on features that are readily observable
    today
  • Videos of family histories
  • Industrial and agricultural businesses that have existed in the area

Previous Projects

Roof replacement of the Vernon Preparatory School Chapel (1914-1966) which contains many important heritage artifacts. Funded by donations and completed in 2022.

Who We Are

The Coldstream Lavington Heritage Society was formed in 2019 by long-time residents who wished to record and preserve the unique local history and recollections of this area before they are lost.
